Gail Miro lives and works in Southampton, New York, where she has been a resident since 1986. She was born in Belville, Ontario in 1955 and moved to Montreal, Quebec when she was a young child. In 1974 she graduated from Concordia University with a BFA degree. She moved from Montreal to Waterbury Center, Vermont to paint full-time. In 1983 she completed a teaching certificate from the University of Vermont and moved to Southampton, New York, with her husband to raise her family. She completed her Masters of Fine Arts at LIU C.W. Post in 1990.
